Linux Engineer
GamePoint is looking for a Linux Engineer on a full-time basis Who are we? GamePoint, based in the Netherlands, is one of the world's leading social game developers. For over 20 years, we have created cross-platform games that have delighted every type of gamer. To mention a few, we've had continuous success with GamePoint Bingo, Royaldice, Cardparty, and Wordtornado. We're not done yet, and we're working on additional games and features for both young and old. We are able to function as we do, because of a broad international staff of game, marketing, and community creators from all around the world. Position Summary – Linux Engineer As a Linux engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Linux-based infrastructure that supports our tools, servers and databases. This includes monitoring and troubleshooting servers to ensure optimal performance and availability. You will be responsible for upgrading and improving our systems and processes within the organization. This may include implementing new technologies and automation techniques to streamline operations, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise. Note: EU residency and living in the Netherlands are mandatory Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure for game servers, databases, and other systems - Automate and streamline systems administration tasks using scripting and automation tools - Work with the development team to optimize game performance and scalability - Monitor and troubleshoot game servers and other systems to ensure optimal performance and availability. - Collaborate with the IT team to ensure security and compliance of all systems - Keeping up to date with new technologies and best practices in Linux systems administration Qualifications: - 3+ years of working experience with Linux (Ubuntu/RedHat) server management - Familiar with performing upgrade and migration operations for MySQL Clusters, memcache, Redis, and to a lesser extent, network infrastructure - Familiar with assisting web and gaming developers and supply infrastructure solutions - Familiar with Kubernetes - Experience with working with command line and scripting (shell, python) - You are familiar with the following tools and techniques: Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Nginx, MySQL (MariaDB/Percona), Redis, Memcache, RabbitMQ, AWS, NFS, Jenkins, BambooCI, load balancing.
